Congratulations! You are pregnant! The world around you is changing and about to even more so, and you may be starting to feel changes in your body, mood and functions. We are so passionate about delivering advice, tips and research based knowledge to pregnant women on how to prevent and manage injury and symptoms of pelvic pain, incontinence, abdominal pain or separation and ‘doming’.

Using a strong knowledge of general musculoskeletal issues and pregnancy specific problems we also assess and treat:

  • Sacroilliac joint pain, pubic symphysis pain (pelvic girdle pain)
  • Lower back pain
  • Thoracic/rib pain
  • Wrist issues and carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Neck pain
  • Abdominal wall issues.

The pelvic floor specific issues we may see commonly in the pregnancy population include:

  • Incontinence
  • Constipation
  • Tailbone pain
  • A tight pelvic floor
  • Painful sex

We provide guidance, tips on self management and hands on treatment to help with these problems. We guide women on exercise during pregnancy, what’s safe what’s not, and how to modify. Then as you draw closer to your due date, we will also take you through topics such as perineal massage, labour positions and active birthing skills.
